I had the pleasure of capturing a moment in time for this sweet family. We met through mutual friends, then discovered that Erin grew up with my nephews. Small town kind of stuff. Great people with a precious little girl!
These sweet hummingbirds made me crazy. I sat for hours at my sister’s kitchen window to photograph them. If I stepped away they would go to the feeder, but if I was sitting there watching…nuttin. I know I’m the hummingbird joke of the day. Yesterday, we looked out the window and spotted these twin deer. I think they live in the woods next door, and I think they may be orphans. I saw a mom and triplets with them yesterday, but these two didn’t follow her. I possibly scared them away permenantly trying to get a closer shot.
This little chipmunk watched the whole thing go down. I know I heard him laughing at me. I don’t think nature and I are friends.

Smoke bombs rock my kid’s world. They also keep the mosquitos away, so I’m all for them. If I wasn’t snapping the pictures, I would be running through the smoke to jump over them too! There is nothing like the summertime of childhood.

My nephew and his wife welcomed their third into the world this past Tuesday. A precious little girl, Evelyn Grace. I love babies. Welcome, little princess!

Yesterday I had the privilege to take the photos of Miss A, who is now 2 years old! It took a little while for her to warm up to me, but at the end of the shoot, she gave me a big hug. Her smile is like rays of sunshine. Just looking at her makes me happy.

Absolutely adorable!I am happy to announce that I have officially begun business at Life Studios, LLC. Special thanks to my sister, Dena, who tirelessly helped me in getting my business licensed and my website up and running. I know I would still be floundering, helplessly, if not for her expertise! Please check out my new website at www.lifestudios.co (no, there is no ‘m’ on the end of that!). I will now be able to let my clients view their photographs privately, online in a ‘lightbox’. Clients will also be able to order prints directly from my site and have them sent to their homes. Email me to book your photo sessions now!

Went to Inniswoods Metro Park. Love that place. My daughter spotted this bird in the tree behind our house. I have never seen a Great Blue Heron sit in a tree before. After it flew away I snapped some pictures of the dragonflies. Love those things.

My sister-in-law always has the most beautiful flower gardens around her house. I’ve given up my quest to kill every plant I adopt. Now I just take pictures of everyone else’s florabunda!
